Social network users will spend a daily average of 1 hour, 22 minutes*
Consumers are increasingly consumed by social media, spending an average of 1 hour and 22 minutes on it daily, which may seem like ample time to get their attention. However, in an increasingly crowded digital world, it is extremely challenging. Creating dynamic content for all of your social platforms does nothing unless it is seen. Timing is everything and timing your posts is one way to strategically maximizing your odds of reaching and engaging.
Although it varies by industry, Below is a cheat sheet that gives some general guidelines:
For the #1 most popular social media platform out there, the best times to post on Facebook are Wednesday thru Friday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The best times to post on Instagram are Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
The lifespan of a tweet is only 18 minutes, so timing here matters even more! Studies show the optimal times on Twitter are Monday or Thursday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
As far as Linkedin, used for professional networking it makes sense that the most opportune times are Weekdays from 7:45 am to 10:45 am, and then from 1:0o pm to 5:00 pm
